SENIOR DOGS ARE USUALLY ALREADY TRAINED AND JUST IN NEED OF A LOVING HOME TO LIVE OUT THEIR REMAINING DAYS. WILL YOU OPEN YOUR HEART AND HOME? RRUS is an all-volunteer rescue organization with seasoned rescuers who have been rescuing and placing Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs for many years. None of RRUS’ officers, directors or rescuers receives any salary or compensation in any manner whatsoever. Additionally, all administrative costs are kept to a bare-bones minimum as every penny spent on administration is considered money taken away from the dogs. Private contributions are spent on the rescuing of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and included but not limited to: shelter fees paid to obtain the dog, veterinary expenses for spaying/neutering, maintaining up-to-date vaccinations, various testing as needed for heartworm and tic-borne diseases, etc. Many of the Rhodesian Ridgebacks found in harm’s way, come to us in neglected condition with wounds, injuries, infected ears/eyes and are often emaciated and in need of special diets. Rarely, do the adoption fees cover RRUS’ actual costs incurred from these situations.
Private donations are the main source of income, a small portion of which is set aside to invest into merchandise for our Rescue Store, which is operated as a fundraiser for additional monies in an attempt to be self-sustaining You may review our financial information by clicking on the following link:
